Why I'm Comparing a Wi-Fi 6 Extender to a Wi-Fi 5 Mesh System

  • Your devices are mostly Wi-Fi 5 and you don't need the extra speed of Wi-Fi 6.

The usual advice says mesh is always better. My testing says that is only true when the problem is bigger than one room. For one weak spot, the RE815XE is the more practical choice—and I say that as someone who has rejected products for not meeting spec.
