When the network dies at 6 p.m. and the office reopens at 9 a.m., you don't have time to read thirty router reviews. You need a working answer, fast. 1. Count devices before you count specifications
The first thing I do in a rush is ignore the spec sheet and walk the building. Laptops, phones, printers, VoIP handsets, badge readers, cameras—they all count. - I won't buy from an unfamiliar brand just because the delivery is fast. Trust comes from track record.
- I won't place the router in a closed metal cabinet. Heat and Wi-Fi signals both die in there.
- I won't skip a UPS. Power fluctuations have killed more than one "stable" router in my experience.
- I won't insist on Wi-Fi 7. Most businesses aren't ready for it yet, and Wi-Fi 6 is plenty for the next couple of years.
